Phrase after phrase, line after a line,

Thou art of mine I assess is fine,

As it comes to its arrival line,

Thus path that I have chosen is mine.

My very eyes have seen reality,

He has left us, thus must be god's pity,

Thus thoughts and I are my soul’s enemy.

Thy string of life that I lose,

The rope around my neck I choose,

As my muscles become loose.

Here I fly as on my death bed I lie,

I do abandon this evil poison,

Though I have to break out of my prison.

For creation my life I pawn

In order to keep the beauty on

As for my phantom to live as a pawn.

This original poem written by myself, Iulio Kambe, has a peculiar and outstanding structure: the first stanza is a trimeter (9 syllables), the second one is a decameter (10 syllables), the third one is a free verse (no structure), the fourth stanza is again a decameter, and the last and fifth stanza is again a free verse, yet the shown pattern is that at each line, the number of syllables increases by one.

Regarding the rhymes, they all have coherence and pattern but each stanza has its own rhyme scheme.

The interpretations of this poem are multiple and free, one of them is that it is showing the despair of a man upon his life due to poor choices and disappointment. But accompanied with images the poem changes meaning such as in the meaning of the words "poison" and "prison" which in the film references alcohol and drugs, but without visual context could be linked to the author's state of mind and views "My very eyes have seen reality, He has left us, thus must be god's pity, Thus thoughts and I are my soul’s enemy."

I strangely starting writing this poem beginning with the end of it for reasons that are unknown even to me, probably so I could have an end without losing track of my ideas and therefore having a clear end in mind. And so it is for the words: I had in mind only the last words for each line as I wrote, yet it helped me think about the words to use in the line to use before and how to end them.
