Recently, a collegue of mine, Alex Serban and I have been requested to take pictures of a dental prosthesis for a stomatology medical center.
The instructions were to mix the medical photography which is most of the time white, bright lighting, plane, boring, and empty of meaning or vibe; with the artistic photography which is most of the time proper to the photographer/artist in his own style and above all, conceptual.
These two types of photography are hard to combine due to the fact that they are two opposite, like trying to combine water and fire to make liquid fire.
We both worked in our style so the pictures taken are very specific to the photographer.
The editing program used is as I always, Lightroom.
I used it to change the color saturation in certain zones, the brightness, the blacks, the highlights, the shadows and the contrast.
